Thomas Karsten Born 1958 in Eisenach, grew up in Leipzig, lives and works since 1982 close to Munich. After having worked in other artistic branches, he feels appointed to photography at the age of 21. Since 1983 he works for journals and magazines such as Stern, Art, Eltern, Nerve (New York), Capital. His first individual publication receives the Kodak-Fotobuchpreis in 1988. Thomas Karsten internationally emerged particularly through his other 15 photo books which are the results of the work on different subjects of nude photography for years. Hereby he advanced to the most published nude photographer in Germany. His nude photography can be found in many important international publications.
